I hold an Advanced Diploma and MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Clinical Supervision. I trained at The Minster Centre over a period of six years. I also hold a BA in English Literature from Goldsmith's College, London.
I am registered with the UKCP and am a member of the BACP and adhere to their Codes of Ethics. I am also a member of the London Psychotherapy Network, a useful resource for people seeking a recommended therapist.
I wrote my Masters thesis on the challenges of treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in short-term therapy and have extensive experience of working with various kinds of trauma in the short and long term. More recently I have developed an interest in the way we relate via social media and how our use of social media impacts on our lives and relationships.
In addition to private practice I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist in GP surgeries and women’s centres. I also have an interest in groups and group dynamics and have studied at The Institute of Group Analysis.
How I work
Whether we are aware of it or not, we are profoundly shaped by our life's experiences and relationships, particularly our childhoods, which means that current patterns and emotions will have their roots in our past.
As an Integrative therapist I pay attention to the mental, emotional, relational, physical and social aspects of your experience and tailor my approach to fit you.
Through working together we will explore your current difficulties, find ways to help you cope, and uncover the links between your past and your present experience. This exploration will give you a deeper understanding of what you are feeling and why, and will enable you to make effective, positive and lasting change.
New research continuously informs current psychotherapeutic thinking, I develop and update my work through ongoing reading, supervision, talks and conferences.
